Andreas Muhr According to the album and song titles, one might expect some industrial and electronic robotic rock. Actually, these riffs and grooves are so organic that Terminator's metal skeleton should immediately melt up and transform into a dancing and singing Arnold. From a million miles away, a thousand voices sing the same catchy refrains!

    - Haze Effect (Red and Blue)

Gramma Vedetta draw inspiration from vintage sci-fi of the late 70s and early 80s. Heavily distorted guitars, soaring melodies and driving rhythms create a huge progressive sound that transcends this dimension.

Stoner meets Progressive Rock with a great passion for science fiction – Gramma Vedetta is a unique beast offering space travel, brutalism and dystopian novels through big and heavy riffs

“Fans of heavy riff, early ‘80s science fiction, progressive rock and stoner rock will feel at home with The Hum of the Machine. These are songs for thinking, but also to sing along.”
    Decibel Magazine

“The Hum Of The Machine is a delicious evolution towards a very inventive stoner/psych/progressive. This album is full of great riffs, creativity, viral melodies and lots of great surprises. This album tastes like a Black Sabbath candy filled with a Rush ganache, seasoned with metallic spices. To be enjoyed without moderation!”
    Doom Charts

“This is one hell of a contribution and a giant step forward sonically for Gramma Vedetta. That they self-recorded this incredibly eccentric and enjoyable album shows just how many other skills this
trio have at their disposal. These guys are great rock musicians”
    Civil War London

“An album that is wall-to-wall brilliance and will be getting repeated plays all year long.”
    Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“The band amply demonstrate that being ‘progressive’ doesn’t have to indicate tedious virtuosity and pompously fantastical lyrics, rather a willingness to take musical risks within the traditionally conservative music genres of stoner and doom metal. ”

A million miles away There’s a black dot painted on a wall. The light has lost domain The dimension soothes my brain. It’s beautiful... From a million miles away, A thousand voices sing the same repetitive refrain. I can’t help but watch the show Repetition messes with my brain, It’s dangerous. Plastic wizards are chasing the slowest change. They kneel before the Electric Lady for the chance to win The Orb. Here we are, the prefab breed, Feeding people, creating needs. From a million miles away The same picture, a different name decorates our graves. Plastic wizards are chasing the slowest change. They kneel before the Electric Lady for the chance to win The Orb.

Let’s speak about information I don’t get all the confusion. Today the wrong is right and the right is just a state of mind. Prepare for the fall: The higher the pain The better the reward. We are all Robots for war. We ate the mushroom, the mushroom cloud. What ws that fuss about? Modern weapons are cute and cheaper, We just need to feed them, to feed ‘em, just feed ‘em! They are all Robots for war. We are all Robots for war. Deploy all the Robots for the war We are all Products. Prepare for the fall The higher the pain The better the reward. We are all Robots for war We are all Robots for war Deploy all the Robots for the war We are all Products.

I need a new machine, To experience what it could have been. This one has a faulty laser beam, Catches just bad memories. ‘Cause I am feeling weird and I’m not ok I don’t have a chance to let wrong memories depart. Restless days, sleepless nights. The time machine, the wrong device. Don't rush on what you can't control, it makes enemies and eats your soul. ‘Cause I am feeling weird and I’m not ok I don’t have a chance To let wrong memories depart. ‘Cause I feel dismayed, ‘Cause I’m not ok I don’t have a chance to let wrong memories depart.

A wanna live in the future of the past With flying cars, with flying cars. I took a trip down memory lane I was tired of this world. Looking for remains of the life I once owned. I had a look in my bedroom little me caught in a vacuum Magic at low resolution Innocent lies and illusions. A wanna live in the future of the past With flying cars, with flying cars. I cannot stand the present and Tomorrow will be better than ever. From my house, at the edge of it all? I was told: "Buddy, this is hell" The big lights, the Big City, Romantic towers, like flowers of concrete. The truth behind those walls: "I was dead before I was born" A wanna live in the future of the past With flying cars, with flying cars.

Transmissions on. The side effects, when the mood is low. I’m going for a run, I'm watered with rum. Being dismissed for no reason It’s the price of freedom. They don’t want me in their club I don’t belong I don't think that's right Well, I think that's right. I am fine, I am not crying. I am just touching myself. Hello, How life has changed so dramatically. Positive words? God, that bores me. I am dead and gone, still, I feel alive. This is so wrong, but I think it's right. Why do you pray for the Lord? (Transmission On) Boom Boom Boom Peekaboo I see you. Say hi to your mum. We had some fun. There is a stop in my brain. Hands holding me tight This road is too steep. I feel this way since thirteen. Hello, How life has changed so dramatically. Positive words? God, that bores me. I am dead and gone, still, I feel alive. This is so wrong, but I think it's just right. Why do you still pray to the Lord?

about

The Hum of the Machine is a collection of short stories. It is not a concept album, but the songs are linked together and tell what the protagonist, a space traveller, sees in a new world where he has landed after passing through a black hole.
In this new society, he is struggling to maintain his individuality, where conformity is rewarded instead.

The Hum of The Machine is an artificial signal transmitted via audio and video, unpleasant at first but one quickly becomes addicted to. The brain filters it out, but its low-frequency waves have become a tantric massage for your grey matter.

The cover represents one of the cities of this new world. Surrounded by its typical large buildings, the Towers. They are designed for those who want to lose their physical form, join the Machine and become pure digital entities.
